Insight reject freelance model to build new full time investigator network

  • Firms to deliver employed network of 50+ staff
  • Delivering confidence and continuity to insurers
  • Fully licenced and compliant with Private Security Industry Act

Insurance fraud specialists Insight and AGS Risk Solutions have announced a significant investment to employ a national field force of licensed investigators.

The employed field force will give both companies comprehensive coverage and brings insurers greater confidence and control when they instruct AGS or Insight on an investigation.

Gordon Healiss, Managing Director of Insight, says the investment in an employed network of agents provides far more control than rival offerings and ensures compliance with pending new regulations. "While we're approaching a new regime mandating licenced investigators, this plan to have an employed network of agents has been made independently to benefit our customers. We believe that insurers, when appointing AGS or Insight to investigate claims, would prefer us to operate under this model. Inevitably there will be regions in the UK where pressures on cost and service delivery may prohibit the use of employed field agents but this is a matter of choice for the customer. Any agents who wish to remain under a self-employed contract must achieve accreditation".

The news also follows Insight and AGS' recent appointment of training provider Bisio as its preferred partner. Staff and agents now undertake 39 hours of guided learning before sitting a formal examination to achieve a Level 3 Award for Professional investigators.

"Our investigators have a background in insurance or law enforcement and they will be fully employed by Insight/AGS Risk Solutions.

"Our organisation is committed to the new regulations laid out by the Private Security Industry Act, which sees the Home Office introducing a licensing regime and the undertaking of licensable activity by an unlicensed person set to become an offence from 6th April 2015.

"With that in mind we are making all the necessary preparations for the regime so that our customers can instruct us safe in the knowledge that they will be receiving the best quality services within the scope of the Act."
